Patrick Dorgu has promised to bring plenty of energy and intensity to Manchester United after joining the club from Lecce.

The Denmark international, 20, joined United on Sunday in a deal initially worth £25million. He was presented to United's supporters ahead of Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace and could make his debut when Leicester City visit Old Trafford in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday evening.

United made the signing of a left-sided wing-back their priority ahead of the January window and Dorgu was identified as a suitable fit for head coach Ruben Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system. The Reds have lacked a left-footed presence for much of the season.

Outlining what he will add to the team, Dorgu told United's club website: "I think I'm going to bring a lot of intensity and physique on the pitch. And a lot of energy and run[ning]."

The wing-back, who can also play on the right, is confident United's three at the back formation will suit him .

"It's a huge club, it's the biggest club in England," Dorgu continued. "I'm really looking forward to working with the new manager, Ruben. I feel this will suit me very well, so I'm excited to be here. "I've heard only good stuff about him."

Summarising what he hopes to achieve during his United career, the wing-back added: "We're still in a lot of cup competitions so, of course, to win the cup games. And, of course, to win as many Premier League games as possible.

"My ambition is just to play a lot of games to be a great part of the United family and just to keep pushing and improve my potential."
